Osaka day 9-11
June 27, 2025
Hello lovelies,
welcome back to our days in Osaka. It's been more a year. Oof.
But, better late than never?
Day 9
On Monday, the first of April 2024 we started out quite early with a tea ceremony at 10am.
My bowl reminded me of a brain, hehe.
It was just an hour but in this hour we were able to mix our own tea and drink the tea while eating cute snacks. I enjoyed the experience although I would have preferred a private session more.
Afterwards we were famished and decided to go to the Burger King we saw on our way to the place. I ate a very tasty cheese bun burger, I can't remember the exact thing I ate and then a melon soda float. Yum.
Here is an obligatory bathroom selfie.
We decided to roam around a bit and I wanted to check out the Liz Lisa store at Umeda - near or in Hep 5. In the end I bought a few items from Liz Lisa and Rojita.
While we were at Umeda station we sat in one of the small cafes and snacked a bit as we were hungry from all the shopping.
Later on we continued along, following the people - going into weird little streets and in the end, we found a Mandarake, where I bought the singin' in the rain takarazuka DVD - something I wanted for so many years - and a Lady Oscar Booklet for my friend.
This was in this underground passage and I don't know what this was but it looked so weird.
In the evening we were looking for food and stumbled across an Indian restaurant where we ate damn well. And a lot. I had so much food.
And here are all the shopping goodies:
Two ring, and a hair clip. The dress and pullover are both from Liz lisa.
As are these accessories:These I got from Rojita and the dress too.
Day 10
For this day, we had a bus tour booked to Arashiyama, Nara, Yasaka Shrine and Hanakomiji. We were super late for the tour as we had problems at Umeda station to find the correct exit and were about 10mins late. But that didn't matter because we were the second group to arrive. The last group arrived about 30mins late.
I'm pretty sure Arashiyama is a quiet and tranquil place most of the year, but we had tons of other tourists and loud people all around us. It was quite a shame but that's the issue when you are travelling when everyone else is travelling.
I tried to take as many pictures as I could without other people on them. And without them, the forest looks so serene and peaceful.
I wore one of my new dresses for the outing and a brooch I made myself. And my hair was still super long, it's much shorter now.
On our way back we got a snack!
Next we went to kyoto and the famous hanami-koji but we didn't even enter the street due to so many people around and stayed on the main street were we ate something.
Bird! No idea which one though.
Afterwards we had some matcha drinks and a matcha cookie from Ben's cookie. The matcha was from a fancy and expensive tea shop (Tsujiri from Uji Kyoto) and was very good. I bought some matcha chocolate for my family and then we left again.
The blossoms all around us were still not in full bloom and it was a bit sad that we just couldn't see the thing we came for.
The next stop was Nara with all of the cute deer. That was a wonderful stop and we tried to feed this majestic and lazy creatures some snacks but all refused. I am pretty sure that the tourists keep them well fed.
The trip ended at an outlet and we stormed the pokemon store and Hias went to Vivienne Westwood and bought some items.
Back in Osaka we decided against going home directly as it was peak rush hour and we instead went to hep five again. I bought some items and we finally went for some omurice. You could choose the size of the thing and Hias's food was gigantic. Mine was big too but I only had about 3-4 eggs - I think his were 6 eggs.
At the top floor was also a detective conan cafe I didn't know about. But friends got tickets! I was so jealous.
Day 11
We went with the scenic train to Kyoto were I left Bru and Hias to fend for themselves (plus I had a bit of a falling out with Bru and wanted some time alone).
There was this long stretch with the super Mario wall which even played the super mario themed music.
I couldn't find the Kyoto fashion museum and took a taxi. I entered a inconspicuous building - it didn't feel like a museum at all as I took the elevator to another floor. But I made it! And then I realized how small the museum was, there was only one room! And it was prohibited to take pictures of one side of the room. WOW.
I took pictures of rest and was amazed by the beautiful embroidery. That are one heck of embroidery goals.
It was still raining and I took the bus to the Kinkaku-ji / Golden Temple. Once again, there were so many people there but it didn't matter, I finally saw the temple with my own eyes.
Continuing the journey I rode the bus back to were I left the other two and we went to a running sushi place. Their tuna was amazingly good.
They told me about a donut place they went to and had to try out and so I did. I didn't like the donuts too much though. They tasted weird.
And also made some purikura again on the way. I don't look like myself...
We drove back to Osaka and Hias and i went out for dinner. I took the spiciest ramen on the menu and was painfully reminded that I hadn't eaten any chilis in about 10 days. But I managed to eat the whole bowl.
And that's all folks!
