    Hello lovelies,

as mentioned before in the "A week in Czesky Krumlov post" here is the separate post for the lace museum in Prachatice in the southern of Czechia.

The museum is open to visitors from May 1st to September 30th but will also have days in between were they are closed (which happened to us).

Their opening times from the website is as follows:

    May – September:
    Tuesday – Sunday: 10:00 – 17:00
    July, August:
    usually open on Mondays

Admission is 60 CZK or about  2,50€

The museum is in a pink house with white-trimmed windows. Above the door is a small decorative stone plaque showing two bobbins, and to the left is another plaque that says:

"House of two Bobbins, dedicated to all bobbin lace makers around the world past, present and future."

We had to wait a while to enter as the doors were closed but after a while an old man showed up and let us in. The room was medium sized and on the left side it was a small shop where you could buy threads, bobbins, bobbin lace jewellery and so much more. We paid the admission and I asked if I was allowed to take pictures and the man agreed but asked me to only take pictures of my favourite pieces.

There was a staircase leading to the exhibition and it was just a long room filled with lace, lace making supplies and traditional costumes.

I won't share with you the picture I have already showed you can look it up in the former mentioned post.

    So here they are, enjoy!

I bought this and want to make earrings! Or maybe a necklace or something.

    Hello lovelies,

the yearly lace exhibition in Göllersdorf/NÖ took place again last April 2025.

    5th Weinviertler Lace day

This time we opted to go with the train as there was one that was going once an hour. It took about 45mins by train but the school was very close to the train station and it was a walk that took less than 10mins.

This year they had a hosting country: The Czech Republic.

We arrived just on time for the lecture "Lace making in Czechia" and attended it before doing anything else.

The woman, sorry I forgot her name, talked in 90mins about the current and past bobbin lace making in Vamberg.  It was marvellous and I loved the lace she talked about. Most of it looked like Bucks point or Bedfordshire to me. It had a lot of tulle like elements with picots but also tallies.

Next we wandered about the rooms we were in last year but this time they had a lot more lace from Czechia. Sorry for the picture dump but there were just so many nice pieces of lace.

The swans were my favourite! They reminded me of the Japanese Brand: Metamorphose temps de fille.

Uff. And that was the lace part. Sorry for the spam, but if I'd add a description to each and every one, I'd be sitting on this one post for ages.

After looking at all the lace and chatting with the people we knew, it was time to go shopping.

Most of the shops were located in the basement and this time I only bought one book (The grammar of point ground) and a few threads.

Tell me in the comments, which one of the lace was your favourite.
