    Hello lovelies,

    ready for my April ootd?

I was sick for most of the month and did not have the energy to do anything, especially not doll up. :(

The first outfit is a super comfy cult party kei-larme mix. I used different materials to create a romantic but comfy look. The scarf I am wearing over my left shoulder is actually a knit blanket.

The second outfit is my favourite self-made bolero with the magic tea party dress.
Usually I tend to stay away from too big bows right in the middle of my head but this kinda looked cute.

    And that's it again.

    All the best,

    Auris Lothol

    Hello lovelies,

I attended Dokomi last weekend and although I can't really say anything about the program, as I just sat at my friend's booth all day long, I did have a nice weekend.
The venue was large and a bit confusing at times, but I really liked it. I always like it when conventions take place and big venues and you have space and air to breath for yourself.
I had Japanese snacks for all meals on Saturday and Sunday from the various stalls and I really loved the onigiri they sold. They were delicious. As for the Japanese caterer, the food was good to okay too but much too overpriced, in my opinion.

My friend Slippeddee was selling her original comics and some stucky fanart. The fanart was nearly sold out by the first day. It was amazing.

We were located in the Artists alley and compared to different conventions, it was huge!
They even separated the artists from the fashion designers and every category had it's own room. It was truly amazing.

That picture was made on Sunday when a lot of items were sold already.

On Saturday I wore my Agent Carter cosplay. I had to get up at 3am to catch my flight to Düsseldorf at 6am (no idea why I thought this was a great idea while booking) and therefore I had to not only do my make-up in a mini mirror at the booth, I also looked extremely tired and also felt like falling asleep all the time after 6pm.
The funny thing we realised later on, after a Tony Stark cosplayer commented on it, was me, in a Peggy outfit, selling Stucky fanart. Oh myyyy.

My make-up and the wig was so messy but I was so tired, I didn't care. For the photo shooting it will be better, promise.

Due to communication problems, I was in my hotel room only after 9.30pm and fell dead into bed after a long shower. All in all, I spent about 46€ on taxi rides on this trip. I never spent so much money on taxis before but the public transportation in Düsseldorf is just fucked up. I missed the tram at 9pm and I had to wait 40mins for the next one???? Excuse me, what? I'm already pissed off when the next tram arrives in 10-15 minutes at 9pm, but 40mins? That's ridiculous.
Plus I never get tired of nagging about German public transportation. It's just so bad.

So, the next day I was wearing a cult party kei outfit. I planned to just take off the peignoir, wig, flowers and the shoes and wear a pullover and I could catch my flight. I tend to forget that even without those items, my outfit and especially my make-up was not "normal".
But I was at a point where I didn't care anymore, so I was on bored with glitter make-up. Deal with it.

What's curious about the picture is that I asked two different girls to take a picture of me and it turned out like that. I look really tall in the first picture and really tiny in the second picture. The light was different too and both times, but I think you are able to figure out my outfit?
I call it cult party kei but in reality, I don't think it counts. It's much too white in my eyes plus I didn't layer enough. I need more layers, and more decoration!
    Oh well, next time...?

    I glitter.
    Close up.

    Dress: Miauler Mew
    Peignoir: vintage
    Skirt: Bodyline
Rest: offbrand, ebay, taobao, Claire's, etc

Needless to say, after that weekend I needed a day off to relax but nope. I had to go to work the next day. Meeeeeh.

    All the best,

    Aurîs☆

    Hello lovelies,

I haven't posted since 12th of July and that's weird because I thought I made a post about buyee and my other parcels. Maybe they are still in the drafts, I have to search for them.

Meanwhile, I wanted to blog about Nippon Nation, a fairly new convention in Vienna. Last year it was held in the Technical University at Karlsplatz near Vienna and this year it was held at Museumsquartier.
Location: To be honest, I liked Karlsplatz as a location. You had the beautiful church, Karlskirche, right under your nose, and a big fountain. There was a park too and even though it was a touristy spot, it was not filled with people. The con itself stretched over a few floors of the university and sometimes you really could get lost in there (finding the changing room was tricky).
The new location was filled with tourists and locals alike, taking pictures without asking and staring blandly at the colourful cosplays. I didn't feel good because I felt more like a tourist attraction than anything. The inside of the location was wonderful, it had a nice baroque feeling to it. It was super hot outside and inside it was very cool, my friend got a little sick because of that.

Shops: The shops had everything, from plush kitties to anime/manga merchandise. But I always have the feeling that most of the time, the convention has similar merchandise (attack on titan key chains, kuroshitsuji rings, final fantasy necklace, etc..). The artist alley was small but they had a lot of cute stuff. M. bought a lot of buttons and I got a time-turner necklace.

Program: There was no program in the con book. That was super weird. I really looked for it and probably turned the book upside down but there was no schedule. All the workshops and contests were in the book but there it didn't say at which time. Nor did I know where to find that information, so I didn't see the cosplay contest or any workshop I was interested in.
The only program point I knew (from facebook) was the Austrian Harajuku Fashion walk 2015 and this is why I came to the convention on Saturday in my cult party kei outfit. It started at 2pm and we all gathered outside. But there were difficulties because the one appointed to take the video didn't appear. So we waited some more and after nearly half an hour he came and we could start.
We went from Museumsquartiert to the Kunst- and Naturhistorisches Museum, crossed the streets and went to Burggarten, from there to Albertina and then back to Museumquartier.
The weather forecast didn't look good and the woman who organised it, planned to only walk for 15 minutes but the weather was hot and didn't look rainy at all so we went for almost half an hour. There were also photographers accompanying us and at the Viennese Opera we did a group picture. I think we were about 25-30 people.
Here are some pictures of my outfit and make-up:

I wore a vintage peignoir from etsy over and Angelic Pretty dress, a lockshop wig and white garterless stocking from Palmers, and white shoes from Primark with queenbee shoeclips. Everything else is offbrand.

Actually I also wanted to attend the convention on Sunday in my Captain America haute couture dress but I was so not motivated Sunday morning. So I spent the day at home (Matthias and Zen went to the con) and packed my belongings because I was to travel to Munich with Zen on the next day.

So, next entry will be about Munich (or..selfies from Munich because I didn't really do much there either)

    Have a nice week,

    Hello lovelies,

A month ago I bought a skirt on ebay and it arrived today. My plan was to cut it and make frills out of the bottom part. I can still do small ribbons and add them but I am much too lazy now.

I started out with this skirt...here is my picture and a stock picture:
    stock pic

    my dress
    Step 1:
The skirt was much too long and I cut it. For me the best size was 10cm above my knee.

    Step 2:
I decided to make two different layers of my frill; 5 cm and 10cm.
Due to 5 layers of frill, I had a lot of material to do the frills. I cut it at one end and stitched it together to make one long frill.
Make sure to use all of the layers for the frills. You will need them. Trust me!
Afterwards I sewed a long line with my largest stitch to frill them.

The frills above were made with my machine.

    Step 3:
Time to shorten the underskirt!  I shortened it by 15cm and zig-zaged the ends. But be careful to use a stitch for flexible fabric.

    Step 4:
As I said before, I made two layers, but one can definitely also do only one.
For that I laid aside the top layer and sewed the longest frills onto the rest of the rest (4 layers).
    Sewing time again!
You do the same for the smaller frill. Lay it on top of the layer and just sew.

And this is the last step. Finished!

see the thread? always cut your thread OTL
    Time: about 3h
    Price: about 10€
Satisfaction: 4 out of 5 stars. I will probably add some ribbons!
Variations: You can use different colours for the frills, you can add ribbons or glitter or rhinestones. Be creative :)
Use it for Mori or cult party kei skirts!

    Hello lovelies,

I had a wonderful fotoshooting with Isa today. She needed a new profile picture and I wanted an outfit shooting. We were in Volksgarten in Vienna and enjoyed sunshine. Even though our eyes burned and we suffered from a grass and pollen allergy.
Nevertheless, the outcome was very good and I am so happy with it. She just knows how I want my pictures!
That's the best picture of the coord. The others are mostly portrait pictures or the sun was too strong..
    Dress: Angelic Pretty
    Peignoir: self made
    Rest: offbrand

    I look so tiny XD

And those are the rest of the pictures:

I love the pink filter and it is that pink on purpose. :)

I also like the effect the peignoir gives the dress.

I got Douglas vouchers as an Easter present for work and immediately spent them on contouring make-up. Also the saleslady was so nice and cute, we talked about old retro anime and bands.

And now I will continue to watch Gladiator and eat chocolate! What a nice day!

    Hello lovelies,

I am currently working on a peignoir (see through nightgown) because I got into cult party kei. OTL
This is most unfortunate because I anyway love so many different fashion styles and I really don't want to spend more money on new ones.
And a simple peignoir is about 40€ on etsy (with shipping to Austria, which alone is 10€. Damn the high charges.) and therefore I decided to do my own.
I bought fabric in Kritzendorf (all hail Kritzendorf, I got 3m for 6€) and made the pattern on Friday.
Saturday was a lazy day but I started sewing today and got pretty far already, even though I didn't sew more than 2h.

This is the pattern I used; sleeves, cuffs and front/back.
To get those puffy sleeves I cut the pattern of the sleeves in half and put them on the fabric with 50cm width difference.

It looks so tiny because I am so small, but it actually goes to my knees! To make it a bit longer I will add ruffles (hooray!) with a length of 10-15cm.

The seam. A normal stitch followed by a huge zig-zag stitch.

2 layers of a blurry cuff.

This is my long and very puffy sleeve. It goes down until after my ellbow.

And this is how it looks with the cuff sewed on. I have to admit, I was too lazy to do this today and therefore it is hold only by pins. But you don't see them at all! Amazing.

I already got some asks to do a tutorial and I definitely will! It is very easy and the outcome is just amazing. I can't wait to wear it and compare it with the peignoir I bought. (I am a very weak human being. But at least it was "only" 17€ with shipping.)

Talking about shopping... did I show you the most amazing dress I every found in Orsay?

Front, Back plus a detailed shot of the flowers. I feel like a painting when I wear the dress *_*
I hope I'll find a good occasion soon so that I can wear it!

The other things I got on this shopping day was mainly cosmetics.
I read some really good review on Smashbox so I got their "try it kit". I hope to "try it" very soon :).
The other items are a Marionnaud nail polish, two art deco camouflage, a cleansing milk from douglas, a cream from biotherm and a white make-up pen by NYX. I decided to buy it after pretty good reviews on tumblr. And because of the name....it's called Cottage cheese.

Then, yesterday in the evening I bought a lot of stuff on ebay and on Friday I finally bought my waist training corset. It's from "What Katie did". It will arrive in 4 weeks (or less, I hope..) and I am truly excited.
    So..the new waiting list:

    • two ribbon belts from ebay (blue and apricot)
    • two hair ribbon in pink from ebay
    • one black dress with a bow at the back from ebay
    • one corset from what katie did
    • three items from restyle (one corset, one body strap and a bag)
    • four thread boxes from ebay
    • one wig from ebay
    • 15 sewing machine feet from ebay
    • 3 punch tools from ebay

    Sorry for the long post!
