    Hello lovelies,

Halloween is way over again and I am super late or early for next year.

This American hyped tradition has much darker and older roots in Ireland and is not usually celebrated in Austria. But the next day is all saints day (1st of November) and a national holiday. Maybe because the next day is free and you can party all night long with a reason is why this tradition is slowly gaining popularity among the kids and youths. We even got trick or treaters the last three years!

In my attempt to add some Halloween spirits to our decoration in- and outdoor I decided to go with something embroidered. And I found these amazing linen ribbons and thought, why not.

     M. had to borrow me a book about calligraphy because my handwriting was not compatible for stitching. And it somehow worked. The letters are not 100% even but that's fine.

Not sure if the witch's hat is recognizable. I kind of used a pinterest embroidery picture as inspiration:

All of these symbols didn't fit onto the ribbon I also didn't want to do a direct 1:1 copy.
But I think my ribbon looks alright.

I didn't manage to do a ribbon for Christmas but maybe if I start early enough I'll manage one next year.

    All the best,

    Hello lovelies,

what is Halloween month without some spoopy pictures? Last year my sister and I made cute pictures but I couldn't edit them in time for Halloween. Therefore I have these pictures for this year. Hooray.
Actually I also wanted to do some pictures for this year but I just had too much work and university stuff to do. This is such a shame because I even wanted to sew another costume but no chance.

Last year I wore a Mary Magdalene dress in olive, a big black scarf and my hand made witch hat. The wand is also self made with a large chop stick and a butt load of hot glue.

Most of the pictures have a red tint, I guess I am having a kind of red phase.

Usually I don't like dresses in weird colours and let's be honest, olive green is a weird and definitely not my colour. But I got the dress from a friend and it looked really good on her. There is something about the form and lace that makes it, despite the colour, cute.

The big scarf is one of my favourite accessory for autumn. It is very warm and looks very elegant.

I played with photoshop for the next picture and gave myself my patronus. Pottermore said it was a dolphin and I think that is awesome because I love the ocean.

What do you think? What is your patronus?

    All the best,

    Hello lovelies,

I have a late Halloween post for you. As a cosplayer I am super hyped but also wary of Halloween. Suddenly people think it is okay to dress up but still think it is freaky for people to dress up or cosplay at a convention. Ehm. Ok.
This Halloween I had a special costume in mind, I am blaming the book I am reading again. I wanted to read a light and funny book and then I grabbed the Silmarillion. Well, almost. At least it gave me the idea to look for my elf costume and ears again.
The costume was made back in 2014 when I went to a middle-earth event. It includes elf ears, a dress in pale pink with silver sleeves and slippers. See the original post here

I have no pictures of me in that costume at all and the Halloween party was quite dark too, so there is only one picture of it. It seems like I have to wear the costume again for a photoshooting or at another event. Oh what a shaaaaaaame.
20 minutes before leaving I realized that the two strands of hair infront of my ears didn't look good so I had to roll them in curlers and blow dry them quickly. At least it worked and looked really good.
On our way to the Halloween party M. and I did a few funny snow pictures.

I hope you all had a nice Halloween,
