Floral Bolero

December 22, 2016

Hello lovelies,

Christmas is coming up soon and as much as I like receiving presents, I am super bad at choosing presents for my friends and family.

I decided to sew my mother a cute bolero with the fabric I am currently using to sew myself a lolita dress.

I am very sorry for the weird light. Sewing at night with not enough light makes the pictures so orange-y.

The pattern I used is similar to the lolita bolero I did a while ago. See here
The pattern consisted of four parts, the long frills part is not shown here. Left top is the front part, left right on the grain is the back part and the one beneath is the sleeve part.

Front, back and frills pinned together looked like that. I also did these parts first, the sleeves were last.

Sewing the frills was a pain in the butt, let me tell you that. Also doing frills and fiddling with them so they look the same on both sides is not my favourite work.

This is the finished work. I tried not to make it too frilly for my mum. It may be also too big for her because I could only guess.

Time: about 10h
Cost: about 3€ for the fabric
Satisfaction: 4/5

All the best,

Aurîs Lothol
